Two illegal migrants from Sicily arrive to stay in Eddie's home and one of them Rodolpho, falls in love with Eddie's niece, who lives with Eddie and his wife under a set of Sicilian family rules and morals dictated by Eddie.

Synopsis: Justin and his girlfriend Julie hold a dinner party to announce their engagement to her very conservative parents and his tipsy mother, who misplaces her latest man on the way to dinner. Neither family has met their prospective in-law, and a nervous Julie obsesses about matching cutlery and races out in search of a fork. In her absence an upstairs neighbour, a boxing promoter's moll, seeks refuge in their flat, accompanied by her huge intellectually challenged minder. Three normally separate English worlds are now in collision, and ahead lie confusions, desperate interventions, frenzied outbursts and a little heartfelt grief. Ayckbourn successfully mixes the accidental and improbable, with uproariously comic results.

Synopsis: Anna and Claire are two bantering, scheming ‘ladies of fashion’ who have long lived together on the fringes of upper-class society. Anna has just become the mistress of a wealthy man, from whom she has received an enormous emerald necklace and an income to match. Claire, meanwhile, is infatuated with a respectable young lady and wants to enlist the jealous Anna’s help for an assignation. As the two women exchange barbs and take turns taunting Anna’s hapless Scottish parlour maid, Claire’s young inamorata suddenly appears, setting off a crisis that puts both the valuable necklace and the women’s futures at risk. To this wickedly funny comedy, Mamet brings his trademark tart dialogue and impeccable plotting, spiced with Wildean wit.
