Synopsis: The Laramie Project comprises of monologues and dialogue based on hundreds of interviews, news reports and court transcripts taken from the people of Laramie after the brutal death of Matthew Shepard.

Matthew was a 21 year old University of Wyoming student who was kidnapped in 1998, severely beaten, tortured and tied to a fence to die – all because he was gay. His battered body was found the next day and he died in hospital shortly afterwards.

The Laramie Project is both an uplifting illustration of the human mind and spirit, and a tragic outline of the ways in which ignorance can often blind us.

Synopsis: Encore Theatre proudly presents Abe Burrows CACTUS FLOWER", directed by Ewen Crockett.

Set in the 1960s, Cactus Flower is a farcical comedy about a philandering dentist who keeps his many affairs at bay by claiming to be married with children.

When the ruse threatens to catch up with him, he drafts his prickly nurse to pose as his wife. She blossoms and he finds himself falling in love with the lovely cactus flower right under his very nose.

This is a show packed with fast jokes, mistaken identities and misunderstandings. As the play skips along, the plot becomes more and more impossible and uncomfortably hilarious. A wonderfully clever and witty comedy, bound to leave you smiling!
